The Gap Theory Denies the Purpose of the Cross

Dr. Kent Hovind October 26th, 2010

Without a doubt, the foundation upon which our salvation and hope rests is the substitutionary death of Christ on the cross. God created a perfect, sinless earth and placed upon it a perfect, sinless man. This man, Adam, enjoyed close fellowship with his Creator until he sinned and broke the perfect relationship between God and man. Ever since that time, death and degradation have plagued God’s once-perfect creation, and man has been separated from God. However, the shedding of Christ’s innocent blood on the cross can restore man’s fellowship with God and provide him eternal life. Through Adam’s sin, death entered into the world; but through Christ’s sacrifice, salvation is made possible (Romans 5:19). Therein lies the gap theory’s greatest error, the placement of sin and death prior to the existence of Adam. If death existed prior to Adam’s sin, then how could it be the result of sin?

Questions for Gap Theorists

Dr. Kent Hovind October 25th, 2010

In the early 1800s, some unbelievers (and a few Christians) began to teach that the earth was “millions of years old.” This old earth teaching laid the groundwork for the evolution theory, which became popular a few years later. In an effort to blend both belief in the Bible and “millions of years,” some well meaning, but misguided theologians invented the gap theory which allowed “millions of years” to be placed between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2.

Thoughts on the article “Oldest High-Altitude Settlements Discovered”

Dr. Kent Hovind October 21st, 2010

Discovery News reports, “Oldest High-Altitude Settlements Discovered.” Where do they come up with these wild numbers?! “Human settlements dating back up to 49,000 years … sealed in volcanic ash in Papua, New Guinea mountains … ” Wow! Where to start? Even after many years of clear demonstrations that the radiometric dating methods are loaded with flaws and assumptions (see Seminar Part 7), they continue to trust them! When lava from Mount St. Helens was tested, it yielded five different ages ranging from 380,000 to 2,800,000 years. None of the five test results were the same and none were right!  IT had just erupted!

National Geographic goes Creation!

Eric Hovind October 20th, 2010

Creationists have always claimed that the Grand Canyon was formed by the results of the worldwide flood of Noah’s day. Now National Geographic is getting to the truth of the matter. Watch this short video from National Geographic. Finally someone is being intellectually honest and presenting the truth! The video describes the problem that geologists have with the formation of the Colorado River. How did it form?

Response to Senate Candidate Christine O’Donnell

Dr. Kent Hovind October 19th, 2010

Dear Christine,

Chris Jason Turns Passion into Purpose

Eric Hovind October 18th, 2010

Imagine having children and youth come to you begging to learn more about Creation! That is what happens when Chris Jason appears at fairs, festivals and churches with a mission to pass on his passion of the Creation message to the next generation. It was back in 2005 at our Creation Boot Camp that I had the pleasure of meeting Chris Jason of the Christian Creation Association in Janesville, Wisconsin. Chris had told us about a type of outreach that he and his group were doing at local fairs and we asked him to bring it down and show us how it worked.

Did Darwin Inadvertently Endorse Murder?

Eric Hovind October 15th, 2010

Let’s talk facts. In 1859, Charles Darwin claimed that if his evolution theory were true, there would be lots of evidence. A decade after his bold statement in writing, no evidence had been found. In 1869, Ernst Haeckel introduced a series of drawings that showed a human embryo going through the stages of evolution. Evolutionists relied heavily on this single work as proof of their theory. Darwin himself considered this to be one of the best pieces of evidence for evolution at the time.

Neanderthals: Compassionate and Caring?

Dr. Kent Hovind October 13th, 2010

No matter how much logic, scientific or historical evidence is presented, it may never unseat the prevailing false worldview about Neanderthals. God created the world in six days about 6,000 years ago.  Some 4,400 years ago, there was a flood that destroyed the world (see Noah’s story, Genesis ). Before the flood, people lived to be more than 900 years old. After the flood, for a few generations they still lived to be around 450, but life expectancy then declined significantly.  See Genesis 5:9–11, our “Adam to Joseph” time line, and Creation Seminar #2 for details.
