When is a game no longer a game? I was just informed by Carl Kerby Jr that next month a new video game will be released that has lots of people talking.
The blogospheres on both sides of the Atlantic are this week buzzing with the news that Britain’s most well-known and influential Baptist pastor has published a magazine article in support of what he refers to as “monogamous same-sex relationships.”1 The pastor in question, Steve Chalke, has form on the issue of controversial comments, two others of which are mentioned below.
As the 40th anniversary of the infamous Roe vs Wade Supreme Court decision has recently passed, I recalled that I had recently seen some statistics on abortions in England and Wales. Sometimes, statistics presented unemotionally, with very little comment, can present a case powerfully. I hope that no one is in doubt about my opposition to abortion. You can find the reasons for this in one of my chapters in The New Answers Book 3. I also wrote an article to mark the 40th anniversary of the passing of the UK’s Abortion Act (1967).
Growing up, I have always loved the subject of Dinosaurs. Maybe it is because my Dad was nick-named “Dr. Dino,” or the fact that he taught and talked about them incessantly. Regardless of how I became so interested, any time an opportunity to look for new dinosaurs comes up, it piques my curiosity.
I can’t tell you how excited I am about the meetings scheduled for this weekend in the San Diego area. On Saturday night I get the privilege of speaking with my friend Mark Spence from Way of the Master. Mark and I will be doing some tag team talks followed by a Q & A session. Seating is limited so get there early. The entire weekend is packed so enjoy as much as you can. Here is the schedule for the rest of the week including the Creation Conference 2013.
If you have never taken the time to read the letter that Martin Luther King Jr. wrote from a jail cell in Birmingham, Alabama, you should.
Shari Abbott has written a book entitled, Why the Butterfly? (Available at www.rforhope.com.) As I read it, it was a refreshing walk down memory lane. I too often lose sight of what God has done for me and Shari’s book was a great reminder of so many foundational truths. She reminds us of everything from who God is, to the power of the Holy Spirit. I need to put this on the list of books I read once a year, because I need reminded!
OK! I know this is not a post on Creation, but with our series Godonomics out there and the Godonomics book expected to be released July 16, 2013, I just couldn’t help share the following blog. In this seemingly complex world, it is amazing that an eight-year old has pretty much figured it out! Journalist, creationist, nutrition genius, economic strategist, and personal friend, Bill Sardi posted the following story of this conversation with his son. Kudos to Bill and his brilliant son!
