“I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.” (Psalm 34:1)

If we’re going to praise God during the good times, we should definitely be just as eager to praise Him during the bad. This is easier said than done.

Just a few weeks ago, in the early hours of February 26th, a fire broke out in the house of the Hollander family of Mt. Vernon, Indiana. But the one thing it couldn’t attack was the heavenly Spirit of the family who lived within. The Hollanders seized the opportunity to sing praise music to the firefighters and news crew as they  watched their home burn.

Several years ago, my dad had the opportunity to speak in their area. They prepared a song for the event and he really enjoyed it.

More recently, my friend, Daniel Johnson, met them when he hiked across America on a mission trip. It was called Coast 2 Coast 4 Christ: Mission 2 America. He had the pleasure of fellowship with them and posted some videos about it.

Just so you know, the family survived the ordeal and even rescued some of their musical instruments. They’re still waiting to find out about the insurance coverage. In the meantime, a trust fund has been set up at Fifth Third Bank in Evansville, Indiana.

Gift cards are also a good way of helping in times like this. Their immediate area contains Big Lots, Walmart, Shoe Carnival, Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, Dollar General and JC Penney’s, to name a few. So, if you feel led to help reach out to this family in their time of need, an address has been established to receive support.

We pray that God’s will be done in this situation and that the love of God continue to shine through the light which flickers through the Hollander family. Hopefully, this will be a reminder to us that God can use us in ALL situations, good or bad.

God ALWAYS gets the glory.  :)
