Richard Dawkins, heralded as the world’s most famous atheist, just denied being a full-blown atheist. In a conversation at Oxford University with Archbishop of Canterbury Dr. Rowan Williams, Dawkins makes the claim that he does not consider himself to be an atheist, but instead an agnostic.

This comes on the heels of a major push by Dawkins to ban any form of Creationism from being taught in the new “free” schools of Britain and a push to stop any form of prayer in council meetings. These statements seem to undercut the entire purpose of his campaign, as he is not sure that God doesn’t exist. In “The God Delusion,” Dawkins presents a scale of one to seven, one representing those who say “God does exist” and seven for those who believe “God does not exist.” Now while it is bold for the “World’s Most Famous Atheist” to say that he is really an agnostic, the Bible says something even bolder. It tells us that everyone is a one on Dawkins one-to-seven scale. It tells us that everyone knows that God exists. Romans 1 makes it clear that everyone believes in God and when we stand before Him, we will be without excuse.
